I am kinda freaking out, because MOE is releasing this new subject - http://tinyurl.com/lx84mx for GCE A's 2010.
And for the current syllabus of Eng Lit (9725), 2009 is the last year that will have Paper 3, 4 and 5. -http://tinyurl.com/mu68lw
Paper 1 and Paper 2 - The English Renaissance, is still going to be available in 2010 and 2011 though.
The new subject looks interesting, but really tough too. Very analytical, also needs creativity in some way. Study Singlish too (CSE, lol)
Wonder if the new subject will replace the current Eng Lit. I like the current intensive Eng Lit better.
The new subject is a mix of KI and GP in some way.. And sorry for spamming...
Oh, and the H2 Bio (9747), Chem (9746) and Physics (9745) syllabus that started in 2007 will be phased out by 2010. SO FAST!!
H2 Physics (9646), Chem (9647) and Bio (9648) will replace it. The content should most likely remain the same though..
I am just very surprised at how quickly they are reinventing these subjects..
Oh, and to add on, I like the current H2 E.Lit cos there is a wider range of choice when it comes to the the second paper.
Education is constantly evolving. I guess it's about the info and the skills you acquire in the process, and abt how you apply it in ur life
Oops, just realised that the GCE A's 2010 E.Lit Paper is very different from the 2009's - http://tinyurl.com/nuh2c3
I will be completely unable to take the 2010 paper. All the books I studied are no longer on the list.
But I can see that E.Lit will continue to be a subject, just geared in a different direction. One that is more socially aware, in a manner.
Once again, sorry for the spam.
I just feel so out of the loop, finding so many changes in the mere 9 mths since I left the education system.
This feeling is, of course, multiplied by the fact that I had no forewarning, because I do not read newspapers regularly..
Remember how, in the past, teachers could kinda predict or narrow down questions because there were some trends that they could spot? If the syllabus keeps getting reinvented every few years, it becomes so much harder, or even impossible, to predict the questions anymore..
