Having experienced the full process of the US visa application, I am now more prepared for my second run through. While I do like trying new things out on my own, this experience was one that I could have lived without. Regardless, I now know how to make the right steps at the right time to minimize the amount of trauma that I will have to go through this time round.
I think it hasn't really hit me yet, that i'll be leaving for so long. And the cost of this trip has cut me off from any future university exchanges, unfortunately.. But at the same time, it is US and NYC, and while Germany could have been amazing, studying and working in NYC is also an experience that will be worth the sacrifices.
I might even be grounded for two years, before I can even contemplate a second degree, and by that time, I think I'll aim for a Masters instead. I'll be too old to consider pursuing another undergrad, given my dream of achieving higher education.
Ah well.
