Glee and its effect

The awkward moment when the gay brother in real life is straight and the straight brother in real life is gay...

This is the one of the key reasons why I love Glee, despite all its flaws. The way it subverts the heteronormativity of everyday life, that gets to me. I love this meta and this subversion, that you can suspend your disbelief sufficiently to believe in the characters.

Of course, it really helps when the actors are open minded and willing to work with the cahracterisation.
