Continuity

You know, shipping a canon couple can be really amazing, because they are allowed the opportunity to do so much more than fanon couples. It helps so much more when the actors behind it are also really for it, and are willing to take the relationship in a different direction.

You know, I can't remember the last time a creator could actually be so disastrous to fandom. I mean, I don't watch Joss Whedon, so maybe I am not used to that. And what I hate the most is that I know the fans will just have to take it, that we will have to accept it because we are ultimately at the wimp of the writers. This is exactly like the time when Ianto was killed in the most stupid way possible. This is not Snape's death, where it had an actual purpose. This is Ianto's death, trying to ramp up the emotional content of the story for no reason at all, and I hate that.

Can't you think of something better? I really really want them to change it. I want the retconning to stop. Stop it, own up to what you have previously written and write the hell out of it. Continuity is key. Castle has failed, Criminal Minds has failed, Hawaii Five-O has failed, Doctor Who has failed.

Is it really that difficult? You have so many staff, just hire one more to check continuity for you.

Fandom is for fun. I wish that it didn't have to be plagued with terrible professional writing all the time.
