In about 7 hours, the events that shape the world today would have its tenth anniversary. I remember where I was and what I was doing that day. I was 11 then. I remember being 13 and listening to the BBC broadcast on the fall out of this event. Now, as a Political Science student, more than ever, I am aware of the impact that 9/11 has made in this century.

But as a New Yorker has said, New York is not meant to be remembered only for tragedy. It is also a place of hope and dreams. Therefore, I will choose to remember New York not only for Ground Zero, but also for Broadway and dreams coming true. The importance of 9/11 does not diminish, but instead joins in the hallowed hall of other historical events, to be remembered and to learn from.

This is the tenth anniversary. Let's move forward from here on.
