Been reading some original fiction about a dystopia. It got me thinking

Well the fact is that as much as I want to argue that I will ALWAYS fight for civil liberties, it is not true. When society sees it as a human right, and when I do, yes, I will fight for it.

Overtly oppressed, you can sure bet that I will rebel. But, if the oppression is even handed, and no discrimination too rampant (of course, what is too rampant is debatable), I will accept it. I will probably won't accept outright media censorship, or brain washing, beliefs that are close to my heart. There are a few things that I will not give up, but if it is not too heavy handed, it is most likely that I will deal with it.

The reason why I can question the curbing of certain civil liberties right now, is because I am allowed to question it, without much repercussion.

I think this shows that in some way, I like giving up control. Or at the very least, I don't mind.

It's just a thought, an analysis on my own personal character and how I deal with situations.

It is slightly disconcerting, but also satisfying in some way. There are people/causes that I will die for, and there are some that I won't. Survival instinct, I guess. We all have them, some way or another.
