SYTYCD Season 6 Top 20
Oct. 28th, 2009 02:49 pmTOP 20 HAS STARTED!!
Overall thoughts
There is a lack of chemistry between the partners. And some of the dancers are visibly not comfortable with partner dancing. I have no fav dance for this episode. All these don't bode well for this season..
Channing & Phillip - Channing is pretty and her name is memorable. I love Phillip's stage background. For their dance, WHERE IS THE CHEMISTRY? And they make it look so hard to dance the jive. Footwork is only average.
Ashleigh & Jakob - Jakob looks very effeminate in his shorts. WHAT IS HE WEARING?! Distinct lack of chemistry too. It is like watching the Jakob show and the Ashleigh show. It isn't the Jakob&Ashleigh show that we are supposed to see. And they also make it seem very hard to dance Broadway. The movements don't flow, and there are alot of breaks in between.
Ariana & Peter - They do have some chemistry, and it is a really fun dance to watch. But they don't move together, and there is a distinct lack of android-ness in their dance. They move too smoothly. It is one of the better dances of the night.
Noelle & Russell - I like Russell and his versatility. He didn't take to foxtrot that well, but he was smooth, and that made up for the lack. Hope Noelle can stay!
Bianca & Victor - I like Victor :) I love Travis's concept. They do have some chemistry. The emptiness of the music really enhanced the concept. I feel that it could have been executed better, but as it is, it is already amazing. I just think that with better execution, it can be another "Bleeding Love", another "Addiction - Gravity", or another "Jeanine & Jason love story".
Karen & Kevin - I LOVE THE SONG CHOICE!!!!ONE!ELEVENTY! OMG, Push It by Glee! I think it can be done better, and working the huge new stage doesn't help either. They have a lil' chemistry, and they need to build it.
Ellenore & Ryan - I am not always a fan of Sonya. I think it is a very average piece. I think that the lack of chemistry plays a part. But I like Ryan & Ellenore, so I am glad that they got to stay.
Pauline & Brandon - I love Pauline! They have chemistry together, and I love the smooth waltz that they did, even if it wasn't perfect. I can buy into the love story. And they are cute together! Can't believe that they put Russell and Brandon together, that was anti-climatic, because DUH, they will never eliminate Russell this early.
Kathryn & Legacy - I don't like Legacy. His face and name turns me off. But the dance was good. And they have chemistry.
Mollee & Nathan - I like Mollee cos she is cute, and so is Nathan. But it is obvious that Mollee isn't used to partner dancing at all, and it does spoil the look of the dance. The dance started off well, then they got tired, and the quality started to fall. But it is good, on the overall.
Results and Elimination
PLEASE. They put Russell against Brandon. It is obvious that Brandon will be going home. But his dance was also pretty boring, so he deserves it? Ah well..
I hope next week will prove to be better, with less incidents...
